Laser Shower 1.5

This week Strawberry got new shoes on! Horse shoes of course, which are made of aluminum and sometimes include rubber for special horses. When a horse is barefoot it can cause them to get a stone bruise. If a horse doesn't have shoes on and the ground is wet their sole gets very soft and can build up thrush. Thrush is black residue that builds in between the frog of their foot. Now, the stone bruise is caused by a soft sole and a horse stepping on a rock causing the blood vessels to become imfalmated. When you are shoeing a horse you must pull the toes back and leave the heels wide. If you shave the sole off too much it can also cause bruising. With the new shoes Strawberry has it will help keep her balanced and help prevent bruising.      I also tried a new protocol, this protocol is called '' rescue.'' This setting is a quick 5 minute setting of all the protocols together. This can be used anywhere on the horse and is often used right before pe...

Laser Shower 1.3

This week with the laser shower I learned a new protocol called "Inflammation."  This is a protocol that you can use on both humans and horses. This setting on horses is only used for 5 minutes at 1500 mgH. This setting helps release any pressure or inflammation in the horses body. This uses the red light for the first 5 minutes and the blue for the last 2, to help with cooling the muscles and tendons down. Inflammation is the time when your cut or inside abscess has turned red and started to swell. With horses you see in more on the inside and in humans you see it from a cut or tear to the skin. Next week I will be learning another protocol.

As the weeks have went on I have seen a great amount of improvement. Strawberry just recently got her feet trimmed. When a horses feet get too long they start to become lame or become soft. Strawberry was starting to get soft in her feet so we had to trim them and later on we will put shoes on. Horses can get a "stone bruise" meaning that it has a bruise on its hoof soul. This is mostly caused by a large rock or from running on cement without shoes. Strawberry has developed a stone bruise and I am now treating that as well. Its hard to believe that a red light can heal major things, but it can. It may be a joke in the beginning, but once you learn about it you look at it a different way.  The laser has healed many tears, deep digital sprains, bruises etc.  Below is a picture of a stone bruise.
