Its Jr.American Week!!!           I left last week and knew that I had to keep working out. Nick and I set up a plan to follow while I am down here. In this plan we set up hard workouts that wouldn't overwork my body and make me tired. It is very important that we don´t make my body tired. It is important because I have to rope a total of 25 times and it takes a lot of energy between the extra practice in between and the competition.               The last week I haven't had access to a gym so I have had to improvise. I have been lifting hay and feed bags. I have used a punching bag and have went on runs. I have also been helping Haven flank and break in calves. My goal has been met because I continued without the necessary tools. This week I do have assess to a gym and will continue with my plan.  ...

This week we did a repeat of week 1. Many of you probably don't know what week one consisted of, so let me fill you in. During week one we did stations of 10 reps x3. For example I did 30 weighted push ups, 30 pull ups, 30 bench presses, etc. I got through 300 reps after we were all said and done with each skill. I got with Nick, who is my trainer, and we figured out how to track my process. We both agreed that pictures and muscle measuring would be best. Muscle measuring is just as it sounds. You flex while holding the measure around your bicep. We decided to measure in inches. I started with an 11 inch bicep. Now 2 weeks later I have a 14 1/2 inch bicep. You can do the math now. Yes that is a big improvement and we are very happy with the progress. We have also been keeping track of my weight. Since day 1 I have lost 15 pounds.                CrossFit   has been the best decision I have mad...

This week we focused on bench press. When we first started out we but 45 on plus a 35 bar. Mondays set was really good. I built up from 125 up to 145 which is improvement, but I am looking for more. On Wednesday I had no idea what got into me, but I was pretty weak. I faced the challenge of not being able to even lift the bar above my head. That night I came to find out that I had 2 ribs out and it was straining my hip. Given my shoulder injury this came as no surprise because it happens often. Anyways there is always bumps in the road.           My goal this week was to of course burn through 300 reps of everything, but to also get to 150 pounds with my back squat. My goal was reached and on Friday we might add more. Along the way I am improving my form and it is helping me get stronger. It is helping rebuild  my shoulder.                Each week I a...

This week is was a wildly hard one. Nick set out to make my life miserable and  beneficial. We set a goal of burning through 300 reps, which is 10 reps for each skill. This week my goal was  accomplished by getting in 300 reps in a half hour. This week we worked more on pull ups. We added a band with less tension so it was harder to do them while assisted. We figure out that  I can do 5 pull ups by myself and after that my body rejects me. So, this week was a success, but the week isn't over yet.                I face the challenges of being able to keep going and finishing everything. It is very important I do everything correct to avoid the injuries and the soreness. It becomes an issue when I do not eat correctly and I take days off, but of course their are no days off.
